If you're heading to Doha with kids in tow and want a hotel that ticks the luxury box without compromising on family-friendly vibes, Kempinski The Pearl is a solid pick. We stayed for a few days and honestly, the pools alone made it worth it.
Doha, the capital of Qatar, is the perfect blend of modern luxury and traditional charm. Whether you’re passing through on a stopover or planning a dedicated city break, this city offers everything from stunning architecture and world-class dining to cultural landmarks and waterfront views.
The Pearl-Qatar, often likened to Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah, is a glamorous neighbourhood with Mediterranean-inspired architecture, yacht-lined marinas, and upscale boutiques. Arriving here feels like stepping into a postcard-perfect setting.
Read on to for my hotel review of Marsa Malaz Kempinski, Doha.

The Pearl-Qatar: A Luxurious Setting
Located on the artificial island known as The Pearl-Qatar, the Kempinski offers a stunning retreat. This Mediterranean-inspired neighbourhood is famed for its yacht-lined marinas, luxury boutiques, and upscale dining options. The area is a destination in itself, with picturesque streets and a tranquil waterfront setting.

We've stayed at the Kempinski twice, once when my daughter was a baby, and then again just last year, with two kids.
The Pools Are Next Level
There isn’t just one pool here—there are several, all spread out across a beautifully landscaped area that feels like its own mini tropical resort. There’s a huge main pool with shaded cabanas and plenty of space to swim, splash or just float around. Then there’s a quieter one tucked away if you want something more relaxed.

If you can tear yourself away from the pool (we barely managed), there’s also a private beach with calm, clear water that’s perfect for paddling. The sand is soft, the water is shallow, and it’s all very easy with kids. A word of caution though - if you're in Doha in summer time (June-August), it's extremely hot and the sand will burn your feet!

The Rooms and Suites
Kempinski The Pearl offers a selection of beautifully appointed rooms and suites, perfect for everyone from solo travellers, to couples seeking refined luxury, to families travelling with young kids.
The beds are majestic and extremely comfortable.

Dining and Facilities
The Kempinski has an array of dining options, from Mediterranean-inspired fare to international cuisines. We loved Lobito de Mar - amazing seafood in beautiful surroundings.

There's also BiBo, a fine dining restaurant which serves up Andalusian cuisine, and Harry's Dolce Vita which offers Italian cuisine in beautiful surroundings.
The hotel also has a well-equipped gym (including a women's only section), and a spa for unwinding in style.
Final thoughts
Kempinski The Pearl is one of those rare resorts that hits that sweet spot between luxury and laid-back comfort. The pools are dreamy, the vibe is relaxed, and everything’s just really easy when you’re travelling with children. We felt looked after, the kids had an absolute blast, and we left already talking about coming back.
If you’re planning a family stopover in Doha or just want a few days of poolside luxury in the Middle East, I’d highly recommend it.
